The Friday Flashback - Deja vu?

The Friday Flashback comes from July 2008 and it gives us a sense of deja vu!

What are you doing Flynn?

I'm trying to hide.

If I were you I'd hide too. I saw the outside run put against the garage door and the cases are out and mum's got clothes everywhere. You know what that means don't you.

You don't mean they are deserting us again do you Flynn?

'Fraid so Eric. I haf to post my tummy furr Tummy Tuesday before we get locked up again. How about you?

Oh okay, here's my tummy, but I'm really hacked off now.
If anycat wants to come and keep us company we'll be happy to see you.

Yup, it's deja vu all right. They are leaving us again but we will be back in about a week and a half.

Just Mooching Around.

I've just had a drink and I think I will just have a quick look to see if there are any mousies here.

GO!!!

Thank you to everyone for all your good wishes. I don't like having the drops put in my ears but I am trying to be good. The ear cleanser isn't too good either. It has a girly smell and makes me smell like a strawberry.
I get lots of kisses and cuddles and treats after though so that helps to make up for it. Mum and dad thought I was looking a bit more wide eyed today instead of frowning.

My Vet Visit.

I am not happy. I don't want to be here. A couple of months ago I had to come here because I went deaf, then mum cleaned my ears every day for me until some hard pieces of wax softened up and came out, and then my hearing came back.
Two weeks ago I was lying around and not wanting to be fussed over, so I nearly had to come to the vet then, but then I felt better again, until last week when I went off my food. Dad said I looked like I had a headache and mum agreed and they said whether I like it or not, I was going to the vets.

I saw a lady vet called Christina and she was very nice. She weighed me and I have lost another 1/2 pound so now I am 18lbs 4ozs. She listened to my heart, and I don't want to talk about what she did to me next. It was so embarrassing! Let's just say my temperature is normal and if I have to go back I will be watching what goes on behind me very carefully next time.
She has gone out of the door now but I think I hear her coming back.

Yikes! What has she got in her hand?

Is she looking for my brain?

Seems like she couldn't find it from that side so now she is trying the other side.
Seems like it wasn't my brain she was looking for after all, she was looking in my ears. She said I have to have antibiotic ear drops to make my earache go away. Here she is coming back with them.
Can we go home now?

Easy Like Sunday.

We are back in our plant pots. The weather is too wet for sunbathing so we are spending lots of time in the greenhouse.

It is much drier in here until mum waters the tomatoes, but she is careful not to water us too.

Watching.

I am not asleep.

I am actually working very hard.

There is a mouse hole here.

It gets very tiring watching for hours on end.

So maybe I will go to sleep after all.

The Friday Flashback.

The Friday Flashback this week comes from July 2010 and tells of when we had an unexpected visitor.

Flynn: Hey what are you doing here? This is my sunbathing spot.

You're supposed to be afraid of me, why aren't you flying away?

You do realise I could have you for my supper don't you.

Hmphh, if you are going to ignore me, I will turn my back on you too.

Oh good, mum's fattening him up for us.

Eric: If I watch him from behind this wire mesh he won't be able to see me.

He has come closer, do I dare pounce with mum watching me?

Huh! The cheek of it. He is drinking our rain water now.

Note from mum:
We had heavy rain and very strong wind the night before these photos were taken. The pigeon is a ringed homing pigeon and was probably exhausted from the bad weather. He was looking very sorry for himself and let me catch him. His ring had this year's date on it so this is probably his first year of racing. The boys were very interested but couldn't understand why he wouldn't fly which is most likely what saved him as there is no point in catching something that just sits and looks at you. He is now looking much better and flying as soon as I or Eric and Flynn approach and should very soon fly back to his own loft.

Walking with Dad.

The rain stopped for a while so the Beans asked if we wanted to go for a walk. Of course we did so we let dad lead the way.

Come on dad, why have you stopped?

He said it was starting to rain again and did we want to go back.

Eric: I thought about it.

Flynn: I had a quick bath.......

and then we were ready.

It wasn't a very long walk but it was better than nothing.

Eric: What do you mean, it's to wet for a BBQ?

Wordless Wednesday

International Box Day.

We don't seem to get many boxes lately, but as it is International Box Day, we knew we had to do the best we could with the pathetic offerings mum has given us.

Flynn: This is a very big box but I don't see the way in.

That's better, now I have a canopy too.

And if I get fed up being inside it, I can sit on it's roof.

Eric: Why is it that Flynn found the big box and I get the small one?

I will give it a try though.

I WILL get in!

That should do it, no-one can see me now.

I have got a paper bag too that I can hide in.
