Our New Brother.

Haha! Bet that title got you curious!

This great package arrived from our friend in Arizona, Kari and her cats. We didn't know it was coming so it was a lovely surprise. We got the book called Kitty Humbug's Christmas Tail just before Christmas, but Kitty Humbug managed to escape so had to come separately. He got held up in the post and didn't arrive until two days after Christmas. You can imagine how grumpy he felt being stuck in a parcel in a cold postal sorting office.

Anyway, the first thing he did when he arrived was to find the prime spot in front of the wood burner where he warmed his cold toes. After some milk and some ham he felt much happier.

He felt brave enough to go and say hello to Flynn who was very interested to hear of his travels.

It was a long story but Flynn never lost interest. He did make a mental note though to never spend Christmas in a sorting office. That sounded no fun at all, no tree, no ornaments to whap. No, no fun at all.

Flynn told him it was very nice to meet him and now he should go and introduce himself to Eric.

'Hmm, where did you come from?' asked Eric. 'You seem very nice, but this is my recliner. Don't get any ideas about taking it. I have enough trouble keeping mum out of it. You follow the rules and we will get along just fine.'

Kitty Humbug then went to meet the stuffies, Little Eric and Crystal. They seemed very happy to meet him and were more his size, so he decided to take his place between them. 'Yes', he thought, 'I'm going to like it here in my new home.'

Tummy and Toesies Tuesday

Don't worry about waking me, you can snorgle or give me tummy rubs. Mum says I am looking podgy in this photo. I told her my fur is still floofed up from the cold, and of course it is bad camera angle too.

Mancat Monday

Just because it is cold and frosty, a mancat doesn't let that put him off going out and doing his rounds.

It is hard to find any strange smells though because they fade away in the cold.

But that doesn't stop us checking for them. If you look carefully, you can see the fur on our backs is puffed up to keep us warm.

Easy Like Sunday

I usually like to take it easy with dad, but I decided to honour mum with my company for a change.
We just saw that this is our 900th post.

Cat on a Bag

Eric: I found this kitty on a bag and you can whap the bobble on his Santa hat.

It has string for whapping too.

Flynn: If there is a kitty on the bag, that must mean it is for us.

I am looking inside for our presents but I can't find any.
What do you mean mum, it was your present in there. Never mind we will have the bag then, we like bag toys.

Merry Christmas.

We want to wish all our friends a very Merry Christmas. Thank you to all of you for your visits and comments. We appreciate every single one.
We hope Sandy Claws brought you lots of lovely presents and plenty of treats.
We are thinking of our friends who are ill and hope they all get better soon, and we are thinking of the families of our friends who have gone to the Rainbow Bridge.

Waiting.

Come on dad, don't keep me waiting, I want my chair!
If you look at the front of dad's sweatshirt, you can see all my wet and muddy pawprints where I walked over him when I came in from outdoors.
We are sorry we haven't visited many of our friends on Wednesday. Mum gave us the busy word as an excuse. We will try to do better today, and we hope to be at the Hotties Chatzy party for a while tonight.
Mum said we have to make it a quick post today. She just got back from her grocery shopping at 12.30am. She went really late to try and miss the crowds, and she was very pleased that it worked.

Eric the Hunter.

The other day I caught a shrew in the garden and took it indoors to show mum. I had a point to prove cuz Flynn always sez he is the Mighty Hunter and he has to catch the mousies for me.

Well, the proof is in the pudding so to speak, and here I am with my prey.

It had already gone dead when I took it indoors, but it was much too cold to stay outside with it.

And this is the out take video.

Christmas Tree.

Flynn: Last week mum said she would at last put our Chris Mouse tree up and we told her we would help. I checked she had taken everything out of thebox.

Then I had to check it smelled right and put my stink on it.

Eric: Then I got in the box to make sure Flynn hadn't missed anything.

Flynn: I checked the smell again after mum had put the first section up. It was okay so I told her she could carry on with the rest of it.

Eric: I went around the back of the tree to make sure there were enough decorations there.

Eric: I am not in this photo. That is Nott Me that you can see.
Eric: I don't know when that naughty Nott Me crept in but he whapped that decoration off and broke the top of it. That is not my paws you can see. Nope definitely not mine.

This is a decoration that mum bought in Hawai'i in October. For some reason she hung it right at the top of the tree.

Eric: This fevver is right at the top too. There used to be two like it but mum found one with all his fevvers taken off a few years ago and when she took the tree down she found his fevver suit still in the tree. She thinks Flynn did it cuz he was always climbing up the tree.
Flynn: Umm Eric, don't forget mum caught you up the tree as well.

This is our tree when we finished it.

Flynn: These are two videos of me checking the tree smelled right.

Here I am checking it when it first came out of the box.

And then I had to check it was being put together right.

Easy Like Sunday and Snow.

We went to go outdoors this morning and this is what we saw!

Okay, we know it's not much compared with what a lot of you get, but we rarely get any. We ended up with half an inch which is enough to give you cold toesies.

Flynn: I wasn't hanging about, I went under the hedge for shelter.

Eric: I checked our outdoor water bowl with the tasty rain water in it but somebody had turned it into solid water so I went under the table to shelter.

I sat here for a while just watching the white stuff fall out of the sky.

Then I checked behind our holiday run to see if any mousies were sheltering there.

They weren't. I'm not impressed with this stuff.

Do not disturb.
While Eric was checking outdoors I caught up with our reader. Now I think I deserve a nap.

Keeping Warm.

It is very cold here and the temperature hasn't gone above freezing all day, so I have been trying to find a warm sunspot.

This is a good place behind the curtain, and I can keep an eye on mum when she is on the computer too.

It is also a good idea to sit on the router. It keeps your butt nice and warm.

Mum is going to help me visit my friends now so I'd better turn around.

The Friday Flashback - Hunt Week.

As Fin is having Hunt Week, we thought we would continue the theme for our Friday Flashback. This is from January 2008 and I was very pleased with myself because I caught my own mousie instead of Flynn catching it for me.
I did actually catch a little shrew yesterday too, and took it indoors for mum to see. I think she will help me post about it next week. Anyway, todays Friday Flashback is called:

ERIC'S MOUSIE.

When I wuz in the field with mum, I thought I heard sumfing in the grass. It wuz a mouse! I listened keerfully then I pounced. I caught it all on my own. It wuzn't Flynn, it wuz me.
And here's a video clip of me wiv my very own mousie.

See Flynn I can catch them furr myself.

Hunt Week - Eric

Today is my turn for Fin's Hunt Week.

If you want to hunt the fevvers, you need to get as close as possible. If you lie very still and quiet on the branch, they may mistake you for leaves.

When I go for a walk, I like to look in the bunnies homes to see if they are home.

It's always worth checking the undergrowth. You can find mousies, snakes, hedgehogs and frogs in there, and probably lots of other things too.

If you don't see anything, it is always worth putting your lasers on.

I also like to check in the ivy too like Flynn. I prefer to keep my feet on the ground when I look. I leave the climbing to Flynn.

And if I can't find anything else to hunt, I can always stalk Flynn.

Thanks to the ZH, Ann for the lovely memorial decoration she did for our mum's horse, Mr.Who.
