A Tuesday Tail

Flynn: I'm bored. What can I do to amuse myself?

I know, I'll play with Eric's tail.

Haha, just a little whap.

Thanks for letting me play with your tail Eric. I will wash the end of it for you now. I will lull him into a false sense of security before I bite it. He falls for it every time.

Eric: Mancats like to check out the farm trailer, especially when they hear noises coming from it.

Flynn: Hmphh! Now you've found me hiding in it, I'm not stopping here.

Chin and Whisker Scritches and an Award.

My dad gives the best whisker scritches ever. His chin scritches are pretty good too.

We got the Happy Cat award from Lola Fannola at The Paw Relations.
The rules for this award are pretty simple. Just link back to the blog that gave you the award, list five things that make you happy and then pass the award onto 6 of your friends.

The five things that make us happy are:
Flynn:
1) My nippy carrot.
2) Snuggling on the compooter desk on my hairy blankie when mum is there.
Eric:
3) Being zoom groomed and furminated.
4)Lying on my dad's head when he goes to bed.
5) Is from both of us and is going for walks around the fields with our mum.

We would like to pass it on to:
BeauBeau and Angie, Fin, Elin, Halle,Calle and Sukki, Abby, Laila and Minchie.

The Friday Flashback.

Well it is six weeks since our last Friday Flashback and this one comes from January 2009. When we originally posted it, some of you were unsure what an airing cupboard is. It is the cupboard where the boiler that supplies all our hot water is kept. It has slatted shelves so the heat can circulate in there, and mum keeps all her clean laundry in there that is waiting to be ironed, and all the towels so they are toasty warm.
This post is called:

MY SECRET HIDING PLACE.

When it has been very cold lately it is hard to find somewhere good to keep warm. The other day I found the airing cupboard door open and before you could say 'Where's Flynn?' I was in there. Oh it is lovely with all the nice clean warm towels to snuggle on. Nobody knows about this secret place.

Uh-oh, I think I may have been spotted. Surely she wouldn't make me move. If I keep very still and quiet, she may think she imagined seeing me in here.

Aww go on mum, it's cold out there. You wouldn't make a poor freezing kitty get out of such a nice warm bed would you? Thanks mum! She let me stay.

An Apology and an Award.

We are very glad to have our Beans back again, but we are not so happy that mum says she has lots to catch up with now she is home again. We told her we need to visit our friends but we keep hearing busy busy busy! It's not fair. We are sorry we haven't been visiting much but mum said we should be getting back to normal in a day or two. In the meantime we will visit when we can.

We got this award at the weekend from Sammy and Andy.

Rule 1. Thank the person who gave it to you.
Thank you, Sammy and Andy!

Rule 2. Share 9 things about yourself.

1. We are birth brothers but very different. Flynn has to run everywhere but Eric likes to lie back and take life easy.

2. Eric likes to sleep on the pillow with his paw on dad's head.

3. Flynn likes to sleep on mum's feet, or if she is lying on her stomach, he will lie on her back.

4. Eric wakes mum up some nights with his loud snoring.

5. Flynn wakes mum up some nights walking around the garden yowling to the moon.

6. Eric is addicted to the Zoom Groom. He gets excited and bites fingers and also his own feet.

7. Flynn likes the Zoom Groom too but hates having his chin touched.

8. Eric has had rapid tartar build up on his teeth since he was young and has his teeth brushed every day with the old head from an electric toothbrush.

9. Flynn loves to catch mice but rarely eats them and prefers to give them to Eric.

Rule 3. Pass the award along to 9 bloggers who you think are fantastic.

We would like to pass it on to TK and Squashies, Victor and Nina, Samson and Delilah,
Danielle, Spot and Fiona, Rusty, Ginger Jasper, Paddy and Dushi, Attie Cattie and her little sister Audrey

Wordless Wednesday and Bruges.

BRUGES.

Mum thought this was one of the prettiest places she had ever been to. We will just let the photos do the talking.

Tummy Tuesday and Lisbon.

As you can see, I didn't pine away while the Beans were gone.

We were going to show mum's photos of Portugal but it looks like she must have accidently deleted some of them, so we will just show you some of what she has left.

This is April 25th Bridge which is the sister bridge to the Golden Gate Bridge. You can see the statue of Christ on the far right.

This is the Discoveries Monument which they passed as they sailed up the River Tagus.

Mum doesn't know what this building is, but she liked the shape of the doorways.

They saw lots of dolphins but they were so fast that mum kept missing them in the photos and got lots of pics of the sea and nothing else. She kept snapping away and got them in the end. They also saw whales. Mum saw water spouts in the distance so kept watching to see if the whales came to the surface. A few minutes later she heard a big crash and the whale had jumped out of the water right beside the ship, but behind her. She yelled for dad and it jumped out of the water again.
Tomorrow we will show photos of the last place they visited which is the pretty medieval town of Brugge in Belgium.

Mancat Monday and Bermuda.

Mancats like to play like kittens sometimes.

Peek a boo!

Here are some of the photos mum took in Bermuda. This is the smallest and oldest church on the island.

It is still used for services.

From the smallest church to the smallest drawbridge. When a yacht needs to go under the bridge, someone takes the plank out in the middle so the mast can pass through.

This is the oldest all steel lighthouse.

All the houses have one thing in common, a white roof with channels built into it. This is to collect all the rainwater which is channeled into a tank in the gardens.

This is Bermuda Cathedral.

and Bermuda Fort.

There are lots of beautiful beaches.....

and quiet little coves.
We hope you have enjoyed seeing a small part of this beautiful island. Tomorrow we visit Lisbon in Portugal.

Fev-vers and Fotos.

There is a very important birthday today. It is none other than the wonderful ML who keeps the CB running smoothly for all of us. Be sure to go and visit her blog and wish her a wonderful day.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ML!!!
HAVE THE BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!

Do you remember the pheasant who keeps introoding into our garden?

Well, he was so busy keeping an eye on our dad that he forgot all about me.

Now he's several fev-vers lighter! He won't be in such a hurry to come back.

Here are some more holiday photos. After the Beans left New York they flew to Miami and stayed at a hotel at the north end of Miami Beach. This is the view from their bedroom window.

The hotel was right on the edge of the beach and it is where the Beatles gave their first ever performance in the US.

When they left Miami they went on the Jewel of the Seas to come back to the UK.

Dad couldn't wait to get out on the balcony and drink his wine.

Their first stop was Bermuda. This is the dockyard at King's Wharf which now has lots of stalls and bars. They said Bermuda is very pretty and they got a taxi to take them around the island. Mum took lots of photos there so we will show more tomorrow.

Presents from Jeter.

When our Beans met Jeter's mom and Flat JH, Jeter sent some presents for us. We got a cap each and Jeter sent a pin for us. Not any old pin though but an original Laffin Jeter pin. We will wear it with pride.
I think we look good in our caps.

We also got some great toys and they are all to do with baseball. We got Temtayshuns too.

Thanks Jeter and your mom, oh and don't worry, dad hasn't really stuck the pin in my head!
Now for some more holiday photos.

This is the cabin the Beans had on the Queen Mary.

and this is the ship's bell.

This is the Dakota apartments where John Lennon was murdered, viewed from Central Park.

The Flat Iron building named for it's shape.

They went past Wall Street and were surprised at how narrow it is.

Then they saw the Wall Street Bull.

After that they caught the Staten Island ferry and went past the Statue of Liberty,

and saw the Verrazano Bridge. Thanks to Furry Paws mom for the advice for the best views from the ferry.
That's enough holiday photos for today. There are more of them than there are of us. We will let mum post more tomorrow.
