Mancat Monday

Flynn has been very upset that someone stole our long grass and he can't bounce in it any more. Being a thoughtful brother, I thought I would see if I could find it for him.

I sat down and tried to think what could have happened.

Then it suddenly came to me. The grass hasn't disappeared at all, it's just different!

I put my head into it and had a good look. It doesn't seem to be growing out of the ground any more.

I got under for a better look. It's gone all sort of dry and crinkly and warm. It smells nice too.

Hmmm, it's nice to nap in. If you get right underneath, it keeps the hot sun off your furrs. Flynn will be glad I found the grass for him. Flyyyyyyyynnnnnnnnnnn!!!!

Flynn: Wow thanks Eric, you are right, it is nice and comfy. Just right for taking a baff.

Hehe! It's fun to rassle in it too.

This is lots of fun. We are glad we found our grass to play in again. We hope nothing else happens to it.

After all that work and rassling, I think I deserve a nice rest now.

Who stole the Grass?

We went for our walk today and as soon as we got in the field we could see something had happened.

Flynn: Eric the grass isn't right. It's not long any more. How can we bounce around in it?

Eric: I don't know. Something strange has happened to it. I'm following a trail to see if I can find the long grass.

Eric: Nope, no sign of it.

Flynn: Well, we may as well lie down here for a while until we can work out what happened.

Eric: Yup, something's going on. I wonder if dad knows anything about it.
We'll let you know when we find out where our grass went.

Friday Flashback

The flashback today comes from July 2008 and was a Mancat Monday post.

MANCAT MONDAY

Today we are showing you how we spend our Mancat Mondays.

If you biggify the first pikchur you can see the worm I wuz playing with in the video last week.

When I have finished playing with the worm, I like to go in the fields hunting furr mousies.

You have to be sure to check the hedges as well. They often hide in there.

Eric likes to spend his time relaxing under the little table............

and relaxing.........................

And when he found the cases were out when our Beans were going on their Holly Days, he relaxed on them too.

And while I was hunting mousies in the field, he relaxed in the barn.

After all Eric's relaxing and my hunting, now I need to relax too.

PEE-ESS
Don't worry, the sootcase wuz furr the Beans last holly days.

Waiting.

There was a mouse here and I've been watching it just waiting to pounce but then it hid under the concrete blocks.

Oh well, I suppose I might as well look at the bluebells instead.

Hide and Seek

The grass in some of our fields is very long now, and as soon as we get several days of good weather, dad will make it into hay for the horses to eat in the winter. We like it when the grass is long because it is fun to play hide and seek in it. We like it after it is cut too because it is easy to find all the mousie holes. Yummy!

The Friday Flashback - Thanks Mum.

The Friday Flashback this week is from June last year. You probably all have seen our big plant pots. This is when we first had one each.

THANKS MUM.
Do you remember the great big plant pot we found in the greenhouse? Mum had put weeds and cut grass in it to throw away. We decided it was a good place furr napping but only one of us could get in at a time.Mum told us not to get to attached to it cuz it wuz soon going outdoors so she could put her tomato plants growing in the greenhouse.

Well, she didn't take it out, but she put another one in there as well, and put nice sweet horse hay in there furr us to sleep on. Look we have one each. We wuz hoping she wouldn't plant her tomatoes too quick.

Look what she did! She left our big plant pots furr us to nap in, and planted her tomatoes around them. That means we can come in here all summer and nap if we want to. Fanks mum, just make sure you don't water us when you water the tomatoes.

Chatterbox

Mum calls me her little chatterbox. I don't know why, she would think it was too quiet if I didn't talk to her.

Holiday photos and tagged.

Mum asked if she could put some of her holly day photos on our blog. We said well, okay, as long as she put some fev-vers on as well. She said she would do, so here are some photos she took on their Mediterranean cruise.

This first one is of the Monastery high up in the mountains at Montserrat near Barcelona, Spain. Montserrat means serrated mountain because the peak looks as if it has been cut with a knife. (It would have needed to be a big knife!) The original monastery is 1000 years old but there is not much of the original left. It was mostly rebuilt in the 15th and 16th century. Mum thinks that is right. She should write things down at the time before she forgets.

When they stopped at Cartagena in Spain, they went to the Priest's Garden in Elche. There are over 8000 palms and cacti there.

Mum bought some cacti while they were there and has put them on the windowledge.
Flynn: If you have got cacti, DON'T SNIFF THEM!! They stabbed me and left prickles in my nose.

At last! Here are the fev-vers we told mum she had to post. The Beans were sitting on a seat and more and more fev-vers kept arriving to baff and drink furrom the fountain.

They went to Naples in Italy but didn't do much there. They were there last year and went to Herculaneum which is similar to Pompeii so this year they thought they would stay in Naples, but it was Sunday so most shops were shut. They went into the open air market and mum bought a lovely leather handbag. The photo above is of Vesuvius as they were sailing out in the evening.
They went to Ajaccio in Corsica and went up to a village in the mountains and tasted the local wines, cheese, meats and cakes which were very nice. Mum was very surprised to see snow on the mountains.

When they left Corsica, the local Drum Band played them out.
We hope you liked mum's photos. We told her if we get plenty of treats, we may let her put up a few more.

We have been tagged by Luna.
The rules are simple: Tag and link back to the person who tagged you.
List six (un) important things that make you happy.
Tag six bloggers and let them know they're “it”.
We all feel this blogging community to be one of inclusion and friendship.
We decided to do it between us and our
six important things are:

Eric:
1. Playing with water. I can't help it, I just love to do it.
2. Sleeping on the Beans pillows. I try to sleep on their heads but they make me get off.
3. Rolling in the earth. If you ever get the chance to go outdoors, try it, it's pure bliss.
Flynn:
4. Catching mice. It's great fun but I get bored when they won't play with me.
5. Nip, nip and more nip. Nuff said.
6. Going for walks in the fields. There are lots of mousies there waiting to play with me.
We tag:
Gandalf and Grayson, Zeus, William, Samson and Delilah, The Furry Kids, and The Island Cats.
