Mousing Mancat Monday.

It's stopped raining and it's a bit warmer so I am listening for mousie movements. Yup, I can hear one.
WARNING This video is not suitable viewing for the squeamish. One mouse was harmed during the making of it, but it was tasty!

(Not) Easy Like Sunday.

Eric: Why has he got to sleep on my chair? He knows mum's chair is mine. Why can't he go on the other chair or on his hairy blankie?

He could sleep in his Ham-Mick too, but no, he's got to squash in beside me. I'm not comfy and I'm not happy.

Nothing Much.

Yup, nothing much is about right. Mum has run very short of photos so she has been playing around with Picnik. The weather is bad so we aren't going for walks. All we are doing is lazing around in front of the fire and not doing anything worth taking a photo of. She said if things don't improve, she will have to train us to jump through hoops. We hope she is joking!

Friday Flashback

This week the Friday Flashback comes from July 2008 and it was a

MANCAT MONDAY.

Today we are showing you how we spend our Mancat Mondays.

If you biggify the first pikchur you can see the worm I wuz playing with in the video.

When I have finished playing with the worm, I like to go in the fields hunting furr mousies.

They hide in the long grass.

You have to be sure to check the hedges as well. They often hide in there.

Eric likes to spend his time relaxing under the little table............

and relaxing.........................

And while I was hunting mousies in the field, he relaxed in the barn.

And when he found the cases were out when our Beans were going on their Holly Days, he relaxed on them too.

After all Eric's relaxing and my hunting, now I need to relax too.

PEE-ESS
Don't worry, the sootcase wuz furr the Beans last holly days.

Stinky Eric

We went for another walk and stopped to sit in the sun for a while.

Flynn found a bit of branch and decided to put his stink on it.

I decided to have a roll too. Mum said she was glad to see us enjoying ourselves. Then she saw IT!

On the side of my face was all smelly black tarry stuff.

Mum thought it was a leaf stuck to me at first, then she realised I was rolling in pheasant poop. She yelled at me to stop but I was enjoying it too much. Do you know what she did then?

She picked me up and plonked me on the edge of the horse drinking trough and tried to drown me! Look how wet she made the side of my head and down my leg. It was a cold day. I could have frozen to death! I've a good mind to report her to the RSPCA.

A bit more than a week ago Zoolatry made us our lovely new header. Although we emailed our thanks at the time, we hang our heads when we admit we forgot to acknowledge it when we put it on our blog. Thanks Ann, Maggy and Zoey, it's great.

Tuesday Tails.

No, we are NOT pooping. We are peering through the hedge at lots of pigeons and crows.

This IS pooping!

Mancat Monday

We are on our way back home after taking mum out for a walk.

Flynn is marching on with food on his mind when I suddenly spotted molehills.

I often poop in them because the earth is nice and soft and easy to dig....
but today I just felt like playing in them. There's nothing that feels as good as earth in your fur and between your toes.

Easy Like Sunday

After a very busy week at the Cat-O-Lympics, I am going to wind down with a glass of wine....

and then have a well deserved snooze.

Cat-O-Lympics-Bird and Squirrel Watching.

Today is the last event that we are competing in. We would have liked to take part in the bare paw fighting too, but if we are honest, it's very rare for us to fight. We have a bit of a rassle now and again, but we prefer snuggling to fighting.
This is the Bird and Squirrel Watching discipline hosted by the Furry Bambinos.

Eric: I am taking part in the squirrel watching. The squirrel has just arrived on the hedge to eat the seeds the birds have dropped from the feeders. I am on the cat tree and keep my head and body low. You can see him beside my right ear.

I slowly lift my head for a better view. He hasn't seen me.

Success! A second one arrives.
He still doesn't see me watching and sits eating the seeds. He is lucky Flynn is asleep because he isn't a watcher like me. He would be out of the door and chase him up the tree.

Flynn: I am taking part in the bird watching. This is a pheasant which is a very big bird, almost as big as me. As he is on our property, rather than watch him, I am escorting him off the premises.

Cat-O-Lympics - Synchronised Snoozing.

The Friday Flashback is on hold while we participate in the
Cat-O-Lympics.

Today we are entering the Synchronised Snoozing hosted by The Island Cats.

We got into our plant pots to get ourselves warmed up for the event.

Then we had a head to head to decide on our strategy. We have trained for this event for four years so we wanted to get it right.

This is it! We know we have to get it right first time and have gone straight for the Synchronised Snooze Snuggle.

Cat-O-Lympics - Extreme Climbing event.

We have entered the Extreme Climbing event hosted by The House of Cats.

Flynn: I have been practicing hard over the last four years to be at my peak for this year's Winter Olympics. Eric waits lower down for me to give me advice on my technique.

Sometimes I have had a slight wobble on my dismount....

But I now have overcome that...

and feel purrfectly at home up in the heights of the old Oak tree.

Eric: I prefer the lower tree discipline rather than the extreme climb....

although with the right incentive, I will climb higher.

Mancat Monday

A mancat is not afraid to roll around on the thawing muddy ground.

While Iwas rolling, Flynn was over the far end of the field and caught a mousie. You might just be able to see him as a little blur just to the right of the fence.

Look how lovely and muddy my paws are.

I got it all down my side too. After all my hard work getting dirty, mum cleaned it off me when we got back indoors. She can be mean like that sometimes.
